"...Alongside our famous individualism, there...a belief that we are connected as one people. If there's a child on the south side of Chicago who can't read, that matters to me, even if it's not my child. If there's a senior citizen somewhere who can't pay for her prescription and has to choose between medicine and the rent, that makes my life poorer, even if it's not my grandmother. If there's an Arab American family being rounded up without benefit of an attorney or due process, that threatens my civil liberties. It's that fundamental belief--I am my brother's keeper, I am my sisters' keeper--that makes this country work. It's what allows us to pursue our individual dreams, yet still come together as a single American family. 'E pluribus unum.' Out of many, one." - Barack Obama so anyway tuesday was depressing. imagine, if you will, an elephant just kicking a donkey square in the nuts and you'll get a picture of what happened. where did we go wrong? when did clear thinking fall by the wayside? is it wrong to want my government to take a hard look at its goals and realize that they're leading us in the wrong direction? george bush cared so much about attacking iraq that he let the people actually responsible for 9/11 go. attacking iraq has driven gas prices through the roof and now many families are forced to do without some things in order to pay for gas. this doesn't seem like much, but in a consumer-driven economy like ours, even a little slack after such a boom like we had in the 90s, will lead to major losses. This would not be so bad if george bush were not giving the tax breaks to the rich and sticking the middle class with higher college payments and limits for overtime pay. haliburton is ripping the country off and i just can't imagine that dick cheney is seeing any of that, can you? being that dick cheney was the vormer VP of haliburton.
where are they now? oh i guess you didn't hear how little our president really thinks of bin laden. i'll let this quote sum up my point.
"He's the ultimate parasite who found weakness, exploited it, and met his match. He is -- as I mentioned in my speech, I do mention the fact that this is a fellow who is willing to commit youngsters to their death and he, himself, tries to hide -- if, in fact, he's hiding at all.
So I don't know where he is. You know, I just don't spend that much time on him, Kelly, to be honest with you"White House Press Conference
