well whenever i go into a place where i know i'm going to be forced to socialize with a large number of people, i generally try to get out of it or ignore most of what's going on. the mall, family reunions, concerts where the jr high kid ratio will be high. new year's eve at cate's house promised to be one such occasion, as she expected about 30 or 40 kids...i shudder to think, but hell's bells what else was i gonna do? sit at home with the rents and watch the ball drop? sha right! i figured i could always go out back and medicate myself if i needed to escape.
i started out the night by watching 'robin hood:men in tights' and man, if you haven't seen this one...well you know what, if i mention a movie in here, it's worth seeing or i'll tell you otherwise. around the middle of this movie most of the people showed up. i didn't bring my camera to this, but i should have cuz a lot of funny stuff happened that i'll never be able to remember and/or describe adequetly. like bobby's adventures in bathrooms...i'll go no further than that on that one.
i alternated flirting and shooting the breeze with people for a while. after the ball dropped things quieted down, i don't know what everyone was doing, but i think i personally got sick of getting my ass kicked at the new DBZ game for ps2, so i went to see what was going on in the movie room. they were watching donnie darko, a movie i love but had just watched the night before, so i went outside to listen to the rain, as it was only about 40 or 50 degrees.
after about 10 minutes of this i decided to get my cd player and go find a quiet corner of the house and chill out for a while, as things would either perk up or i'd get a great night's sleep. as it turns out i fell asleep during bad astronaut...mmmm. i woke up god knows how much later, i think around 1 or 2 to the sound of "let's do it in the bathroom" followed by many footsteps and many different sets of giggles...what went on in there is still a mystery to many of us at that party but i'm pretty sure that some girl on girl making out action occurred. in fact, and i'm not exaggerating when i say this, lesbianism was running rampant all over the house, to the consternation of us men. well i walked downstairs and found that not much had changed really. it was fun, that's for sure, but nothing really stands out right now. except calling pork and passing the phone around and each person saying "cactus" then hanging up on him...the weiner :)
i started getting kinda tired but not enough people had either left or gone to sleep yet, so it felt wrong to call it a night. i went upstairs and got on the computer, where i played some good games of yahoo dominoes till jeff got online wasted and started pestering me to come get him and take him back to cate's or else he'd drive himself. damn my soul, i went down and tried to get someone to go but ended up going myself, but beth tuck came along so it was ok :)
we got back and it didn't take long before me and jeff went out back and got high, well in his case a lot higher.
it really mellowed me out and kept me up a lot longer than i would have been. i sat down and watched monster's inc for a while, then just as i was about to put in the 13th warrior...cate runs in and grabs her suitcase o tapes and begins to rummage.
so i got up to see what the house was doing, no i can't keep up the facade that i know what i was going to do, what i was doing, when i did it, or that kind of thing. i was at cate's house for 24 hours for crisesake!
so i ended up going to sleep with holly snuggled up next to me on the big couch in the movie room after watching the 13th warrior. i slept like a baby, i tell you, i've never slept that well with someone next to me. plus waking up next to a girl is always fun. after we woke up we kinda lazed around for a couple hours, watched Airheads and eventually the house started waking up too. if cate's house had clocks, i'da kept better track of all this stuff, but fuck ya! we played some goldeneye later, we being me and josh. josh owned me in everything but lazers, touche josh. from the time i woke up to the time i left i managed to talk girls into giving me a backrub and a footrub PLUS play with my hair. score!
cate got up at 7. me, jamie, and katie were watching Big Trouble in Little China. we then tried to watch Bulletproof, but frisbee called us away. i'm tired of writing and forgetting and remembering, so i'm gonna go.
